Germany here I come!

So... this will be my very first blog ever. I don't what I should write and I was a little unsure in which language I should write but then I chose to do this in English. Why? Well, to be honest, I like English more than I like Finnish, and it's somehow easier for me to express myself in English (and I still suck in German) so it was the best option.

Lets start the story and to do that I think I have to start from the very beginning. Last summer I was in the movies watching Fast&Furious 6 with my sister. I can't remember if it was at the end of the movie or somewhere during, there was this song playing. Later my sister tried to search for it but we couldn't remember anything but the one shot part. So what came up from youtube was BAP's One Shot. This was our first contact to kpop. Couple days later I tried to find BAP but I couldn't come up with the name so I find G-Dragon and BigBang.

Now you might be thinking "what has kpop to do with her exchange." Well I have always wanted to go on exchange or at least on a language course but only my passionate need to get to South-Korea got me to do something. So I looked up what organizations in Finland send students to South-Korea, there weren't many options. I ended up studying the programs of YFU. I asked permission from my mom and she was like yeah yeah go ahead, but I don't know whether she believed I would actually do something to go or not but I was already filling the application and booking the interview.

I learned at the interview that all the places for the 2014 program were already full and I was unfortunately too old to go next year. Well I still wanted to go and Germany was the country for me. Couple of weeks later I got a call from a number I didn't know but I still answered. It was from YFU and they congratulated me for being accepted. Then the paper work started... After millions of applications being filled and signed I was ready to wait to get to know my host family.

So this is how I became an YFU exchange student. People, listen to kpop ;)
